We live in a dangerous world. Creatures eat each other. Humans go to war. The price of adapting to this is eternal vigilance; this takes discipline and courage. Failure to do this often results in needless death.

Dealing with reality is a matter of behavioral strategies. Our senses are limited and might not exactly capture universal totality. We are forced to accept that our ideas may be mistaken. We must carefully observe what is going on and design actions that further our survival.

Mastering this requires bravery, commitment, and daily practice to overcome our fears and do what is necessary. The laws of the universe are absolute. Mercy and viciousness both stem from abstractions that only exist in our minds.

You are completely responsible for your own development and your reactions to the things that happen in your life. You may not always be able to control what happens to you, but you absolutely can control how you react to these events. Accept this challenge and you will thrive!
